MARCH OF DIMES March for Babies BLOCK PARTY

Black & Veatch, Sprint, Quintiles and Prescription Solutions will be hosting the 2nd Annual Block Party & Charity Sale to benefit the March of Dimes’ annual March for Babies fundraiser which is being held this year on May 3 at the KC Power & Light District.
The Block Party and Charity Sale is an excellent opportunity to bring neighboring companies together to raise funds and awareness for the March of Dimes organization. All professionals from each company are invited to attend the Block Party and donate items for the Charity Sale. In addition to the sale, the event features live music entertainment, food and beverages available for purchase, raffle prizes and the opportunity to sign up to be on a team for the March for Babies event.

DATE: Thursday, April 16, 2009
WHEN: 4-7 p.m.
WHERE: Black & Veatch southwest parking lot (115th Street and Outlook in OP, KS)
Charity Sale:
All professionals are encouraged to donate items for the Charity Sale. Volunteers will be on-site accepting charitable donations the day of the event, and providing donation receipts. All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes, and any items not purchased will be donated to the Disabled American Veterans.
DROP-OFF TIMES: Professionals are encouraged to donate items from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the day of sale.
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Volunteers will happily accept the following items, if in good, clean condition.
Clothing
Knick Knacks
Housewares
Shoes
Jewelry
Electronics
Toys
Bed & Bath
Cookware
NON-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Volunteers will not accept:
Car seats
Helmets
Refrigerators
Anything with a 2- or 4-cycle engine
Large furniture or appliances
Paint, chemicals or cleaning products
Damaged goods
Food and Beverage:
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The menu is still being considered, however, the price will be $5 or less per person.
Live Entertainment:
Local bands The Buddy Summers Project and SoJo/MoJo will be performing during the event.
Raffle prizes:
Raffle prizes have been donated from Van-Wall, The Other Place and Lenexa Automotive.
