Sprint Earth Day

earthday

Wednesday, April 22, is Earth Day and thousands of events are being planned by companies and organizations across the globe to celebrate. Here at the Overland Park Campus, we are planning a day full of fun and educational events.

You may want to start the day by bringing your unwanted personal documents to the Overland Park Campus for convenient and confidential disposal. While you’re at it, bring along your electronic waste to the e-waste recycling event. Or bring your used wireless phones to the wireless recycling booth.

Speaking of electronics, the Product Development Team will be giving away some of Sprint’s newest “green” products – including the Solio solar charger and carrying cases made of eco-friendly materials. The exterior material, inner liner, and binding tape is made from 100 percent reclaimed water bottles. The interior “green” foam breaks down at a much faster rate than standard foam. And even the clip uses a percentage of re-ground material. The large, green case is for a PDA, BlackBerry, etc., and the smaller, rust case is for most feature phones. Imagine powering up your Sprint phone with the ultimate in natural energy.

You can register to win these special prizes and many other earth-focused prizes by simply picking up your Earth Day Passport from the left of the Town Square stage, filling it out by visiting exhibitor booths and returning it to the right side of the stage. Random drawings will be held from the completed Passports. You must be present to win.

Also featured: live music, an eco-auto show, Youth Speaks performers and a surprise guest speaker. Mark the date on
your calendar now and please plan to attend Sprint Earth Day Celebration 2009.
